About MeMs. Vowels attended the University of Kentucky, obtaining BAs in both English and Anthropology (2001), as well as an MA in Secondary English Education (2013). She currently attends the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English during the summers, where she pursues her Master's in English. She is a C.S. and E. Kentucky Fellow, an active member of the Bread Loaf Teacher's Network, and co-hosted the historic Blue Parlor Reading Series during the 2016 semester. Her academic interests include African American Literature, Modernism, Horror, and Student-Centered Learning.
When not wrangling Juniors, she enjoys camping and hiking, reading philosophy, attending arts events and concerts, travelling to exotic locales, writing poetry, and napping. She hails from the South End of Louisville and currently lives with her family in Fairdale, KY. |
